"Who Moved My Cheese?"—My Go-To Guide for Navigating Change

Years ago, I picked up Who Moved My Cheese? during one of the busiest and craziest seasons of my life. I had two babies under two, was constantly traveling for work, and barely had time to think, let alone read a book about change. I needed something simple, short, and straight to the point. This little book was exactly that.

Fast forward to now, and it’s still with me—well, not the same exact copy because I’ve given so many away—but you get the idea. I’ve carried this book into orthodontic practices for nearly 10 years. Why? Because consulting is all about change. My whole job is to influence, advise, and help teams navigate through it, and let me tell you, I’ve seen a lot of pushback over the years.

Change is hard. It’s uncomfortable, it’s scary, and for some people, it’s downright frustrating. I get it. I’ve seen it time and time again in teams I’ve worked with, and honestly, I’ve felt it myself. That’s why this book has been such a game-changer for me. It’s simple, relatable, and breaks down why people react the way they do when things shift—and how to move forward anyway.

What I love most is how this book helps leaders. If you’ve got team members who are struggling with change, this is the perfect tool to help you understand what’s really going on beneath the surface. Why is someone resistant? Why is another person thriving? This book spells it out in such an easy way that even a sleep-deprived mom traveling nonstop (aka me, back then) could get it.

If you or your team are feeling stuck or overwhelmed by change, this book is for you. It’s a quick, fun read that can totally shift how you see things—and how you lead through them. So, grab a copy, share it with your team, and start the conversation. Change doesn’t have to be scary, and sometimes, the cheese you’re looking for is closer than you think. 😉
